Found in Readers Digest in October 2000. I recently cared for a man that was admitted to the hospital to have a pacemaker implanted. He was very friendly and outgoing, and had a nice smile for me every time I entered the room. On the morning of discharge, he felt great! He was laughing and telling me jokes as I attempted to give him his discharge instructions. He started shacking his head, then stopped me, and said I have a very personal question, can I make love to my wife twice a day with this? I hesitated and then said, I dont see why not. Oh good, he responded, I never have been able to before.


From Mike in March of 2001. I wrote a friend about my new pacemaker and told him I would be returning to work the following week. In his reply he wrote, Do you have an extension cord for the pacemaker long enough to reach your house all the way to work?


From me, Jen S-L in May of 2001. On my recent flight to PEI, I heard over the intercom an attendant saying that any portable electrical devices that were on board must remain off. Than they said that it doesnt apply to hearing aids and pacemakers. I thought this was humorous.
